SOLD - 1912 Taznakht
SOLD - 1912 Taznakht
My love for Taznakhts began in 2019 when I discovered my first one at a flea market in Marrakech and away from the souks. I didn’t know it what kind of rug it was at the time but since then those saffron yellows, poppy reds and indigo blues have captured my heart and is the reason you’ll find so many of them in this collection. Hand selected from the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains during the first week of spring.
This pattern represents the roof of a home and is also unique that it has the year 1912 woven into it - must have been significant year for the weaver or who it was woven for - birth/marriage. Please note color progressively fades along the length.
