MY JOURNEY

Welcome to my space! My name is Alina Rose Mendoza - I’m a photographer, travel enthusiast and vintage rug collector. This creative journey began 10 years ago when I first picked up a camera and as my love for capturing moments deepened a desire to see more of the world and capture the beauty of it and the people in it. After a life-changing trip to Brazil, my first solo international trip, I decided to spend more time traveling and taking photos. In 2016, I created a massive shift in my life and decided to do just that; I quit my job, sold my belongings and headed to Morocco as my first destination with my camera strapped to my back and only taking a small suitcase. Since then, my love for Morocco has grown and is now a place I travel to frequently. Alina Rose Home came about after my 2nd trip to Morocco and in the midst of the pandemic and making a decision to offer my a very small collection of my personal and loved home items which included a few rugs, blankets and poufs. One customer bought most of the items and asked if I had anymore rugs; I didn’t at the time but that led me to buy a small collection online. Since then, I have been able to return to Morocco to hand-select and curate today’s newest collection from the foothills of the Atlas Mountains and is filled with colors of the land - saffron yellows, poppy reds and indigo blues. I hope this space and these handmade works of art inspire you to create your own travel-inspired home space or to at least travel more and experience the diverse beauty that this world and the people in it have to offer.
